Ms. Ramla Khalidi
Before joining UNDP Syria in September 2019, Ms Khalidi was Chief, Strategy, Evaluation and Partnership Section with UNESCWA in Lebanon. Ms Khalidi began her career as a Researcher with Amnesty International based in London, UK and her first assignment with UNDP was as Poverty Analyst in New York in 1996. In her 28-year career, she has worked as a journalist, a researcher, a policy analyst and a Programme Manager focusing on issues such as social policy, poverty, and gender equality. Ms Khalidi holds a Master of Arts in Arab Studies from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Tufts University.
UNDP Syria Deputy Resident Representative
Mr. Sayed Sahibzada
Before joining UNDP Syria in September 2019, Mr. Sahibzada was Deputy Resident Representative P/O a.i. with UNDP Libya. He began working with UNDP in February 1996 and since then has served in several countries including Afghanistan, Sudan, Iraq, Nepal, Somalia and Libya. Throughout his over 30-year professional career, he has served as researcher, instructor, computer programmer, prgramme coordinator, senior advisor and head of offices managing large scale programmes and operations. In addition to over 21-year of services with UNDP, he has also worked with Non-Governmental Organizations, United Nations Mission, and UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator Office. Mr. Sahibzada holds an MBA in Project Management and BSc in Economics. He is currently pursuing an MBA in Leadership and Management.
