Launching Arab Network for Women in Elections

UNDP, International IDEA and the Organization of Arab Electoral Management Body are launching jointly Arab Network for Women in Elections to increase women's participation in electoral and political processes.

The Arab Network for Women will help to create solutions for the barriers that women face in their participation in political life. It is a network that develops standards and promotes gender-mainstreaming in policies and procedures to foster women's political participation through advocacy and outreach, data collection and research, capacity building, and standard setting in the region. It also provides a space for state and non-state actors to work together to promote women's role in elections and leadership.

It consists of election management bodies, regional civil society organizations and individuals in the Arab region.
